“Old Oak Chest CT” is the sixth painting in a radiograph tree series by Lizzy Rainey, R.T.(R), of Lafayette, Indiana. This autumn landscape was captured on canvas by using the form of a single image in a chest CT exam. The vessels in this one frame have taken on the shape of a grand, old, oak tree with its massive, aged trunk. The circular pattern in the treetop is familiar to the image of a routine chest CT and yet allows light to stream through its branches.
