“Renal Cherry Tree” is the fourth painting in a radiograph tree series by Lizzy Rainey, R.T.(R), of Lafayette, Indiana. By turning the kidney on its side and running the spine horizontal the artist has created a cherry tree in blossom from a renal angiogram. This painting demonstrates the dark renal vessels filled with contrast and branching out with their tree like pattern into the intensely pink cherry blossoms of this artistically created kidney.
