Year of the Dragon, Tiger Dragon Art Poster

Anciently it is said that there existed a great Dragon who possessed the stealth and ferocity of a Tiger combined with the majestic flying and fire-breathing skills of a Dragon. He was known as a Master Dragon because he held dominion over the lesser Dragons in the realm, yet he was not King. He was considered too agressive to possess the wisdom needed to rule and therefore he was always angry and bitter. But when the time came for China to go to war with her enemies, the Tiger Dragon led the battles with great heroism and insight and thus aided China greatly in the vanquishing of her enemies. For this he was honoured and still is, today. The Kanji symbol for "Dragon" features beneath the fantastical beastie. This story and work of art by Skye Ryan-Evans, was created to comemorate the upcoming Year of the Dragon in 2012 to pay tribute to all Dragon people who struggle in defence of their rights and their nation, wherever that may be. 25% of royalties from the sale of this beautiful canvas print is donated to the Red Cross in Japan to help raise funding for the recovery effort from the recent Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear accident events there.
