Oh, Prometheus creator and hero of mortals, the sublime saboteur of Zeus. Part of our "Stuff Zeus Said (Probably)" Collection, the "You Don't Get Fire" mug pays homage to "The Trick at Mecone". In this tale, the Gods call a meeting with the mortals to determine how exactly the mortals will glorify the Gods and being deities of the ancient world, they choose a sacrifice. Prometheus sets up two sacrificial offerings: one of ox meat wrapped in the stomach, and one of mostly bone wrapped in fat. Prometheus presents both sacrifices to Zeus. Zeus selects the gift of bone and fat, enabling people to keep the precious meat for themselves. As you can imagine, Zeus has some buyer's regret on this one and promptly takes fire away from Prometheus' beloved humankind.
