Young Girls at the Piano by Pierre Renoir

Young Girls at the Piano (1892) by Renoir is a vintage impressionism fine art musical family portrait painting featuring two sisters. Renoir was commissioned to make these paintings for a new French museum in the early 1890's and created a series of five paintings of "Young Girls at the Piano" taking great care in their detail. The children musicians are playing music on the piano while studying their sheet music to learn this musical instrument. About the artist: Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919) was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir's paintings are noteable for their vibrant light and saturated colour, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions.
