YUKON KLONDIKE GOLD RUSH MAP 1897 POSTER

An 1897 map by Millroy of the Klondyke Gold Fields. At the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, the entire lower 48 hungered for information from Alaska. Adventurers young and old needed information about the Gold strike. This map gave the intrepid miner everything they needed to know before embarking for Alaska. Along the left side is a detailed primer on what to expect and what supplies to take. For example, in winter expect about 4 hours of sunshine with temperatures of 8 to 60 below zero at the gold fields. No doubt, many miners had one of these jammed in a breast pocket for quick consultation.
