The beautiful Zebra Longwing Butterfly! Heliconius Charithnia (Linnaeus). The Florida State Butterfly. With their elongated black wings, white stripes It’s common host plant, is the purple passion flower. They eat the leaves. And the pollen. Pollen helps them live longer than most butterflies. Months. Female plants her yellow eggs on leaves. This one is drinking nectar from a pink lantana plant in my backyard. I love their beauty, and slow flight.
