I believe the only difference between someone who calls him or herself an artist and someone who does not is the ability of that person to believe he or she is an artist. I believe it is a title only you can give yourself. Yet, we are born to be creators. At a very young age, I chose this path for myself and have been actively creating for approximately 20 years. Though I enjoy many mediums including digital and traditional, I most often choose oils on canvas. Visions for my creations come quickly -- sometimes with no warning, I can usually play them over again many times before I forget. Some present themselves to me as animations, while others are static like photographs. I then choose which medium is best to use to bring each vision to life. For many artists, it is common to sign one's creation (on the front) where it can be seen. However, I aspire to express the visions I receive as closely to the original as possible. My name -- my signature is not apart of that vision. Therefore, I usually sign my paintings on the back.
