Fine art and vintage photochrome images, lovingly cleaned, restored and digitally enhanced. My appreciation of fine art goes back to early childhood: I recall lying on the floor of my grandmother's bedroom and studying Gainsborough's The Blue Boy and Pinkie that she had hanging on the wall. A college friend introduced me to Van Gogh by hanging Starry Night and Trees and Undergrowth on the walls of her dorm room. Soon after, I started researching and fully embraced Impressionism, Surrealism and Gothic architecture. A passion for restoration came to me early in my work with digital images, in cleaning up and colorizing old B&W family photos. Calendarwerx combines these interests, and affords me the opportunity to continue to research and learn about historical and vintage images, their original creators, and their processes.
