About
It all started when I ordered a notebook online only for it to arrive and be barely the size of a credit card. How on earth am I supposed to take notes in that tiny thing?
Into my desk drawer it went. Only each time I opened the drawer, it looked at me expectantly, until one day I took it out and decided that the only thing it could possibly be used for was drawing.
I bought a pen from a local art shop and drew my first picture sat outside a coffee shop in the centre of Bath. It was a simple little picture of the cobbled road and some Georgian buildings.
I loved it. Not the picture - but the process of drawing. Ever since then, I've been hooked.
Whilst I initially kept rebuying those tiny credit-card sized notebooks, I have more recently started going "bigger" - that is, A5! Then one year a friend of mine gave me a set of colouring pens for Christmas, and since then I can’t resist colouring my pictures in.
I love getting lost in the process of drawing. Sometimes, I don't even notice when someone around me is looking over my shoulder.
One such guy came over to me in a cafe and asked if I was an illustrator. Now there's an idea, I thought.
For now, drawing continues to be something I do because I love it.
But for Christmas this year, I made a couple of personalised mugs for my mum and step-dad, and when I saw that you could sell, as well as buy, personalised products on Zazzle, I thought hey, why not?
So here’s to taking my first baby steps towards my dream of being an illustrator. I hope you’ll enjoy the designs as much as enjoy making them!
