Karen Miller Anderson received her B.F.A. from the College of the Dayton Art Institute. A former Art and Commercial Art teacher, She left teaching after being introduced the then emerging computer graphics technology. She pursued her M.S. at Middle Tennessee State University in Engineering Technology, specializing in computer enhanced graphics. Dr. Miller Anderson enrolled in the Textile Technology Management Ph.D. program at North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles in 2001. She completed all requirements for her Ph.D. and officially received her diploma, August 10, 2006. All of her work is signed as K.M. Anderson. Grants and awards Dr. Miller Anderson has been awarded the Regional Artist Project Grant (RAPG) 2006-2007 from the United Arts council in order to complete her new series. The Regional Artist Project Grant (RAPG) Program receives major funding from United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County and the North Carolina Arts Council, an agency funded by the State of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition, Dr. Miller Anderson was recently awarded the 2007 Linda A. Ironside Fund for the Arts Award from the Triangle Community Foundation.
