Never Dope Sick Again #NDSA @Daj4k NDSA, a celebration of Addiction Recovery Art and Sober Living: @Daj4k, an artist of many mediums, was deeply influenced by Banksy, graffiti, WuTang, DaVinci, and Dahli. Growing up in the USA and moving around frequently due to his military family, DJ experienced a range of cultures and influences, including poverty and a minimalist lifestyle in Panama as a child. His father, a multi-award-winning graphic designer and artist, instilled in him a passion for design and creativity. Despite his love for underground hip hop, heavy metal, and classic oldies, DJ's life took a dark turn after his mother's death in 2016, leading him to addiction and a life on the streets. But DJ is a visionary and a fighter, constantly seeking out the beauty in back alleys and rooting for the underdogs and youth affected by poverty. After facing jail time, losing everything, surviving two overdoses, kidnappings, and violent crimes, and losing friends to the opioid crisis, DJ finally found redemption in Delaware, completing drug rehab and moving to Brandon Novak's Sober living in Wilmington DE. Now, DJ has found his passion for street art and is using his talent to inspire others in recovery and advocate for change.
