About

As a low-time commercial pilot myself I've been doing a lot of networking with local Chief Pilots, recruiters, other pilots. It's one thing to have a full-size resume ready to go when people are expecting to see a full-size resume at let's say a job fair or job interview. But what about those times when full-size resumes would be a hinderance? What about the times you're working as a line service technician or hanging out with other pilots around the airport? Are you going to carry around a portfolio of full-size resumes all day? What about the times when someone tells you they know of a pilot recruiter or Chief Pilot? Are you going to hand them a full-size resume? This is where a Micro-Resume comes into play. Full-size resumes are a pain to carry around; not only for you to hand out but also who you're handing them out to while networking. There's a time and a place for full-size resumes and there's even more places for Micro-Resumes. Most pilot recruiters don't need to see your entire work history, your skills, your educational background, etc. They want to see you're qualified flying hours and they want to see it quickly and easily. So, alter your weight and balance when networking. Carry a Pilot Micro Resume and land your next flying job.
