SLAGTER COLLECTION

Philip Slagter is an internationally recognized artist whose work has currently spanned a 40 year period. His work is in collections in the USA as well as worldwide. He has exhibited nationally as well as internationally. Slagter has lived and painted in New York City, Connecticut, Indiana, Florida, New Mexico, Los Angeles and Montana in the USA, Thailand, the Bahamas, China, Indonesia as well as visits to Africa, Mexico, Guatemala, Hawaii and Alaska. Slagter's work is influenced by all the people, places and cultures he has experienced from the beginning of the graffiti scene in New York City to the street art of Los Angeles, the wildlife of Montana to the tribal art of Africa, his work ranges from abstraction to realism and the subject matter changes dramatically with each location but always with a very individual style. Slagter says, "For an artist, art and life are intertwined while change is inevitable and essential throughout life. Change equates with evolution". He has selected work for public release. "I like the idea that my work will be seen by people other than just the art world and art world crowd", says Slagter.
