About

Shlomo "Sunny" Souza was born in July 1993, on the 20th of the Hebrew month of Tammuz, 18 minutes before Shabbat. He is the grandson of the late F.N. Souza, founder of Modern Indian painting. At a young age, Shlomo already exhibited a gift for art. Growing up in Hackney Wick, England, where he lived in an historic house overlooking Victoria Park, he was influenced by the urban backdrop of London as well as a family passion for creativity. As a youth in London, he gravitated to rap music which heavily influences his life, his art and the relationships he forms [if you mean the relationships he forms between themes in his work i think we should make this clear, otherwise i would leave out the part about relationships]. Shlomo has quickly developed a reputation as a graffiti artist, and his other work frequently reflects the edginess and the bold lines associated with urban street art. At the same time, many of his paintings reflect a sense of history and community influenced by his life in Israel.
