The Proud Boomer store started the same way most things in my life have: out of stubbornness and a refusal to accept the narrative someone else wrote for me. I'm John Harris. Navy veteran. Cancer survivor. NASM Certified Wellness Coach. I write about health, fitness, and longevity at The Proud Boomer on Medium, where the core argument is simple: getting older doesn't mean getting smaller. It means getting smarter about how you train, what you eat, and whose advice you actually take seriously. The merchandise grew out of that same mindset. I wanted gear that reflected how a lot of us actually feel: capable, experienced, a little skeptical, and nowhere near finished. Not the "over the hill" joke stuff. Not the ironic grandpa humor.
