Tino Rodriguez & Virgo Paraiso are two San Francisco-based artists, working with fantasy, myth and folkloric tradition as well as issues of transcendence, spirituality and connection to nature. Their work is ethereal and sensual, depicting postmodern fairy tales in which things are never what they seem, inspired by personal and world mythology to create syncretic universes. Their work has been featured in ‘Sense8’ (several of their paintings are featured in the Netflix show) ‘Jupiter Ascending’ and Matrix 4 and the video for Antony and the Johnsons’ ‘Epilepsy is Dancing’ (all visuals) all of them directed by the Wachowskis. Their work is in the permanent collection of the San Jose Museum of Art, Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, Nevada Museum of Art, and Basel Museum in Miami, Florida. And their paintings have been used on the book covers and included in book editions of various poets and writers such as The Library of Esoterica published by Taschen, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Emanuel Xavier, Francisco X Alarcon, Hiram Perez, Rebecca Solnit and several literary journals, etc...
