A press pass is not something you have to be issued, nor does it give anyone any additional authorities. But some ignorant people (some of whom are in positions of authority) don't understand the meaning of the 1st Amendment, and think you NEED this pass to conduct press activities. Well, this if for those who think you HAVE to have a pass, while acknowledging it is not necessary for a free press. Highly recommended!
